Old Cairo

These were some of the photos I took in Egypt that I did not share. I sporadically posted photographs during my trip (see here), and those were the ones of which I was somewhat proud. These are just some more snapshots. They are not really representative of my trip, but rather just little glimpses into things I found interesting. I was not really on my game during this trip, so I do not think my photos turned out well in general, but nonetheless here they are. These were taken in Cairo, Luxor, and Hurghada.

Note: other than the photo of coral, which has been edited (poorly) to create a tilt-shift effect, all other photos have only been edited for basic clarity, color, and exposure.

Tahrir Square
I was not able to take any pictures with my camera due to a heavy military presence in and around the square, but I was able to snap this quickly with my phone.

how it’s done, son.
Local fisherman row their tiny boats out in front of a dam and a massive ship to sell shawls on the nile near Esna, Egypt. Not one of the men in this fleet of mobile salesman was even slightly worried that they would be hurt by the ship or dam between which they were sandwiched. They would hurl their goods onto the ships and wait for someone to throw money down to them, meanwhile taking a smoke and singing a song or two.
